This may already be part of the building code in the BC lower mainland.
We (used to) go through show homes every once in awhile and you could see the sprinkler heads. It would be a good idea. We have fire extinguishers and smoke alarms and had the fire department check out our home a long time ago. The main things were not storing flammables close to the furnace and using extension cords properly.
