It's a good article for challenging our assumptions. I knew about Prince but not about Taylor Swift.
ReplyDeleteGenius is usually not popular long term. Madonna is the only one I can think of with a consistent string of re-invention and wide fan base. I loved Bowie and Prince but only certain stuff.

ReplyDeleteI agree Annette Holland but I think the point Randy Resnick was making is we don't think of using that term with women's achievements which is unfair.
ReplyDeleteI don't use the word genius often and I don't argue they aren't worthy of the word. I was just surprised to find that bias in me.
