Eat your produce rather than drink it.

Eat your produce rather than drink it.

The thing that makes it so easy to grab and go, encourages over consumption. Fruit is much worst to that hit of calories. Sometimes I get in a cycle of Booster Juice and even though I grab a snack size I'm always aware I could have just grabbed an apple and been as satisfied with fewer calories.

Slow down, enjoy your food. Favour veg over fruit - much less sugar. It doesn't matter whether sugar is from fresh or processed sources. It all adds yummy calories that can contribute to developing diabetes.

  1. Count and track your calories

    Don't under eat

    Eat before you feel hungry

Put more protine in your diet

    Eat fresh fruits and veg

Get at least 30 min of exercise (so that your heart rate is up and your breathing is intense enough that you cannot carry on a conversation while you do it) 3-5 times per week.

  4. Why do you think that? It could be a plus thing.

  5. Plus the key is prevention. Metabolic health is the key.

  6. Clinton's messages aren't showing for me, and when I click on his name it shows me an empty plus page.

  7. Anyhoo, about your original post. Don't get me wrong, I really love a nice smoothie from time to time. But I always think of it as a "treat," not as a way to get my essential nutrition. So I don't really care whether or not it contains spinach, kale, or unobtanium. I only want one that I enjoy.

For the last while, my wife has been supplementing her regular meals with a large carrot in between. So her caloric intake has actually gone up a bit. Despite that, she's easily achieving her desired physical impact (mostly just being fit, not to obsessed with weight).

I feel like you can't do the same thing with a smoothie, no matter how much kale you stuff into the blender.

  8. Fred is working long hours on his feet and spiraling into inactivity because he comes home and relaxes in front of a screen. Hard to watch but don't want to nag.
