Ya, I've had unlocked phones for awhile now. I'll never go back to carrier locked devices! I like both HTC's and ZTE's Android flavours better than Stock though. Especially ZTE's.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I had one, it was an HTC with the SenseUI version of Android. I got the updates as soon as HTC released them irrespective of the carrier I was on. However, HTC was kinda slow. Still WAY faster than Telus, but I was annoyed by being one of the last to get it among the manufacturers.
My wife's phone is an HTC phone, and it's the "Google play edition" which is basically stock Android. She gets updates as soon as Google releases them, but I'm not sure how much longer they'll support the One M8.
My most recent is my ZTE phone, and their releases come out like lightning. Software support has been stellar so far!
I found the support for my S6 was really good when it came to updates.
ReplyDeleteYa, my friends with Samsung devices are generally happy with the software updates.
