ReplyDeleteAnnette Holland You called? ;) Hello! I'll be honest, it's hard to explain "Preacher" without giving too much away. In fact AMC released a funny behind the scenes clip that shows cast and crew trying unsuccessfully to explain it. I can give you a quick summary if you want to be spoiled (let me know). But I can say that fans of the comic book are very pleased with the tv show so far - they really captured the characters and quirky tone of the books.
ReplyDeleteThe spoiler-free version is this: “Preacher” is a cult comic book series by Garth Ennis (creator of 'Hellblazer') in the DC Vertigo line, which means it's very adult. The series was envisioned with an ending (ala Neil Gaiman's Sandman, etc) which happened in 2000. I think if you are a fan of "Walking Dead' or the Constantine 'Hellblazer' books then you will really like 'Preacher' - it mixes reality and Angels & Demons, with large doses of drama, violence, and dark humor. btw, they are re-airing the pilot ep this Sunday followed with 'Talking Preacher' hosted by Chris Hardwick. That should answer any "what the hell just happened?" questions. And if not, ask me and I'll try to explain without too many spoilers :)
