I actually don't have a problem letting border agents look at my phone contents in my presence. But, I have traveled in a vehicle tossed by border agents when I went cross border camping as a youth. Declare that booze, tidy up after and carry on.

Fascinating. I would never have thought that they would do this. It would seem like a colossal waste of time. My first thought on the issue are that there is no way I would let anyone access my phone unless ordered by a judge and even that I would probably just turn around and go home. It's a huge invasion of privacy for absolutely no good reason.
ReplyDeleteOn the TV there are people entering on a visitor visa who, when their email is checked, shows they are here to work. But there is always just the option to turn around.
