Considering the range of empires, of course everyone was not white. Victors, spoils, etc.
Awesome that there is visual art that showing a range of people integrated into society. Backs up archelogy findings of destroyed cities in Africa. Again victors are pretty good at destroying the history of their opponents. We see it in the recent destruction of ancient statues and buildings that have stood for centuries. It's why opponents have nothing but threats in response.

Considering the historical origins of the populations of Europe, in particular Italy and Greece (hint: the Romans got around), I find it surprising that anyone thinks Renaissance Europe was anything but a huge intermingling of culture, race, and ideology.
