Canadian couple, Canadian level expenses. Stuff is expensive here.
These guys spend a lot on restaurants but in the end we spend about the same amount in groceries so...oh wait that was a week I'm thinking a month. Now that we're retiring we're keeping our same money management style without the savings pool; household and 2 allowances.
$750 seems like a lot for a dog from the SPCA. I don't know how much Hobbes will cost but Milo was more than that 15 years ago.

I live in a small Canadian Prairie city with a spouse and a dog. We retired in 2018. This is what life is like.

Laura cost us fifty dollars from the humane society. Not sure how SPCA does it, but she had all her shots when she went home with us, so 750 does seem quite high.
ReplyDeleteJewellery insurance? I hope that isn’t a monthly bill... maybe I missed the memo on things I need to do to be an adult ^_^
ReplyDeleteThis doesn’t seem like it could possibly be representative of a regular week-in-the -life-of. They can’t possibly be buying new puppies, going to the fancy spa, and booking trips/ paying for vacation flights every week. Or maybe they do, and hence have no money.
Tim Ebl They did say the pup was a one off expense but dogs definitely add to the budget. They are a high end couple (hence the jewelry insurance) but doesn't seem like "routine" I like how Refinery29 does their money page. They break out the monthly expenses then do a "typical" week of daily.
ReplyDeleteCharles Gaines Our SPCA does shots - maybe this included neutering. Even so that seems like a lot.
