iPhones are just super secure.
To me authorities should have to get a warrant of they want to access your phone. From US cop shows it seemed there's supposed to be an investigation, then warrants from a judge then confirming evidence (from a phone).

Apple gives the impression that iPhones are super secure. They aren't any more than other phones, and installed apps further reduce that security. However, at least in the US, a warrant should be required to get into one. Mass warrants should also be illegal (but it hasn't yet been ruled on). Third, since they contain so much of our personal lives the burden of proof of evidence should be much higher to get a phone warrant than for pretty much anything else we own. It should be at least as difficult as a house warrant.
ReplyDeleteBut that also is a spot where US law has not caught up with tech.

ReplyDeleteI left iPhone,iPad and everything else apple after my I phone 4s. Switched to Android and never looked back. iPhones use to be the most expensive phones. Now it seems Android is catching up. In another year or two they will be priced out of the range of buying it out right
ReplyDeleteBut there will always be mid-range flagships that have core features.
ReplyDeleteI recently purchased the mi a1 Android one phone as a backup. I am very very impressed with it. It updates weeks ahead of my pixel 2
