The biggest injustice the anti-abortion movement has been to convince women that losing a pregnancy is a personal failure that should be punished.

The biggest injustice the anti-abortion movement has been to convince women that losing a pregnancy is a personal failure that should be punished.

The implementation of an abortion law came up in Canada a few years ago. At the moment it's a medical procedure between a woman and her doctor. Just like everywhere else, the majority of terminations occur in the first trimester with a very low percent in the last trimester. Just like everywhere else, the focus is on the survival of the newborn. If you need a law to mandate care for children your culture is flawed. If you need a law that mandate as many pregnancies get carried to term without follow up support for babies, children and their care givers your culture is flawed.

I have had 2 terminations. One when I got an ectopic pregnancy after having 4 hour surgery to enable pregnancy and another after IVF. In neither case did I have to jump a bunch of hoops (although I did have to wait in Emerg for my Dr in one case) and I can't imagine having random public input into a personal decision.

  1. I just read an article about a Walgreens pharmacist refusing to dispense miscarriage meds to a patient.
