You should have a relationship where your kids look to you for guidance. If they did not, don't expect the school system to spy for you.

I still have trouble understanding the mentality of parents regarding their kids choices when it comes to these things. My daughter takes part in Pride events, heck, we're trying to talk her into carrying the flag for our Friendship Centre in the parade this weekend if she isn't working. Hmmm. Then again, that was before she started work this week ... and will now be working instead. Dang. She's going to be displeased by that.
ReplyDeleteReally though, it's not the school's place to 'out' students to their parents. Even if it's just as a supporter, which in some families can be almost as bad as actually being outed. Sad as that is, it's real.
There are evangelical Christian religious schools in Alberta that don't want to have mandated clubs. That is, if students want the club it must be allowed on site.
