In my naive early internet day, I thought librarians would be gods because of their search ability. Now facts don't seem to matter at all.
Considering Google has problems retaining non-white male technical people, I'm not surprised by the poor quality of information served to many questions. Plus, they are a business built on ad revenue so whoever pays more gets top billing. And if you want to see American exceptionalism on display, check out Quora.
