I would pick a different year for hajj unless I was dying. There is no guarantee you would be able to come back to Canada, no embassy help and the US and UK governments are against Canada supporting Saudi Arabia on this.
How willing are you to embrace martyrdom? At minimum I would travel under a non-Canadian passport from a different country. A leader who gets in a knot about being urged would have no problem imprisoning people with citizenship to a country they have cut diplomatic ties to. Remember, the UK, our traditional alternate embassy, is standing with Saudi on this.

I live in a small Canadian Prairie city with a spouse and a dog. We retired in 2018. This is what life is like.
