A long time ago, I thought the US election system was similar to the Canadian one. Independent registery, ridings boundaries and counting. Not at all!
Add in voting for weird things like judges and other elements of the justice system and you have no non-violent way to effect change. Yet the violence is all on the side of the winners - that is the GOP and Trump supporters. An admission that people want equitable (if not equal) treatment the the US government wants to deny.
