Science!

Science!

It bothers me when I hear someone talking about a "cure for cancer ". What do they mean exactly? Some cancers are curable (acute lymphoblastic leukemia) and preventable (HIV vaccine). Even breast cancer isn't a monolith. My mom and another woman in her office got breast cancer. My mom died, the other woman is a survivor. A neighbour and my dad's (male) friend also have survived breast cancer treatment.

Human bodies, we have them but don't really understand them.

  1. I despise it when people try to simplify the insanely complexity of the human organism to a 'well you need more iron' as if one thing is the panacea

  2. Cancers should I guess always be written in the plural if not qualified by a particular type or victim.
