Cancer woo - we've all been there
When my mom was at the "we can do nothing more" end of her disease, she embraced a lot of alternative treatments. As long as they didn't actively harm her, I just didn't say anything. I certainly wouldn't say something to a stranger.

Hope is the most powerful placebo there is. I can't see a reason to deny anyone some of that.
