I remember skating on frozen ponds growing up in the Vancouver area in the 70s.
And needing snow tires, and riding on sliding busses. I guess those days are back for this year.

I live in a small Canadian Prairie city with a spouse and a dog. We retired in 2018. This is what life is like.

I do recall a fairly long cold snap around 10 to 15 years ago here in Metro Vancouver. This cold snap does feel very long. Even when we did have days of rain here and there, it didn't wash away the snow like how I expect most of the time. The forecast calls for rain on Sunday, but temperatures will still remain colder than 5. Likely, it will just cause the snow to melt a bit and then refreeze over the next week. Long range forecast calls for more snow next weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a dreary winter here! Usually it's cold and clear. This year not so much, cold and lots of cloud and fog.
