Yes I did read the manual.
And I have a searchable "good to know" app! What about you?

I read my manual as well. Not sure if the younger generation does. Modern mobile devices and online games are designed for people to figure out things without having to read a manual first. My first cell phones, I read the manual to learn how to operate it and use all of its functions. Modern mobile phones just come with enough instructions to power it up and connect with your carrier. You have to figure out all of the other stuff on your own.
ReplyDeleteI also made sure I read the section on putting on the spare. That is something I want to make sure I am familiar with when I don't have a flat. I'll likely need to refer to the manual, but at least I won't have to try to figure it out from scratch in likely less than ideal conditions.
The manual also describes the proper way to jump start a car. You should connect the cables in a certain order and ensure the cars are started in the proper order as well. You can probably get away with found things in slightly the wrong order, but why risk damaging both cars?
I read my manual.
ReplyDeleteI have only owned standards.
Double-clutching is what you use when you don't have a synchro-mesh transmission, or it's not functioning properly ... it's not complete gibberish.
So there.
He looks pretty miserable , 3 miles later , OK ....
ReplyDeleteMy app is from Porsche; I think it's the manual digitized. To my surprise they have a version for android. They seem to think driver's tech savvy level is at using an iPhone. Yes Gene Chiu flat replacement is something you want to be familiar with especially when you have an off road vehicle.
ReplyDeleteWith my recent new vehicles there was considerable orientation time on pick up. Macan was 2 hours of demo.
Cass Morrison I think they spent about 1-1.5 hours on my Elantra. Even pretty basic cars have a lot of features to go over. I was kind of surprised, as I don't remember them taking that much time with my last car. It was an Integra GSR though, and was really very simple. I miss that car.
