In many ways this is a failure of career counselling - lots of STEM areas not addressed.
Science is team work and so is tech. Mixed teams are the most creative (and least stressful) to work in but find your comfort level. Start in a company led by women or build your own with a shadow male associate. Textiles, renewable energy, food science and cosmetics - all tech driven.
