Wow, fascinating! They were just heading out for a three hour tour after all. It sounds like this fellow and his son used their heads, though. The most important lesson (in my opinion) is letting people know your planned outing duration and route. When you're out in the wild, things can go awry with little to no warning. I'm happy to hear they came out the other side no worse for wear.

ReplyDeleteI had a boyfriend who used t hike a lot in the Rocky Mountains. He always Checked in with Forestry and gave them his planned path.
