Alexa pre-order arrived today. Speaker quality is definitely better.
Initial impressions. Set up was a bit more complicated with turning off and on the WiFi. The SmartThings Skill is better than the way Google works. I have a couple dual outlet plugs and Alexa will control them separately. The nice thing is once you set up one time, as long as you log in the same for each additional device it connects well.
We both like that Google says what it just did; Alexa just says ok...very loudly.
Mine was supposed to arrive Thursday (Dot) ... notably, you still haven't seen me posting about it because of Purolator saying it was delayed "due to weather or natural disaster." The only weather delays we had were BEFORE the thing shipped. Meanwhile, Canada Post has been delivering 4-5 days ahead of scheduled delivery.
ReplyDeleteI'm unimpressed with Purolator right now. I had three orders in that shipment ... all are late. I wonder if Ryan Moore noticed any major natural disasters in Thunder Bay at the end of last week. It's been sitting in Thunder Bay since Thursday. Friday, they marked it delayed. I had really wanted to mess with it on the weekend, when I had time.
Early Tuesday was the big storm so most were delayed by a day...
ReplyDeleteWe had a delay notice as well - it ended up being one day and Canada Post was delivering on the weekend. The delay can be anywhere along the delivery route.
ReplyDeleteRyan Moore Yeah, Tuesday was a mess, so I didn't mind the first shipment that was delayed. The highways were all closed here. But that last batch didn't leave Toronto until Tuesday night ... and they didn't mark it delayed until the night after it was due. If it's hung up, it's hung up ... but the point of electronic tracking is real time status. They're supposed to know where their stuff is en route.
