Sometimes it's the result of the 'Boys Club'. Men who weren't properly socialised and had fathers or other role models who made women seem inferior or gave them (the men) a poor attitude towards any female. Peer pressure also comes into it as men don't want to stand out from the crowd. It's wrong and it may take a long time to 'bleed out' from their social strata. Also, some men are just entitled assholes.
