Veterans should be guaranteed a basic income at a living wage level for the place they settle.

Quarters, specialized WCB and retraining resources should be prioritized for all vets and their families. We should provide resources during employment to minimize that need and make it simple to obtain.

  1. Yep. When you send then to their deaths, the least you can do is to provide for them when they return. Don't like it? Don't participate in wars.

  2. I served 20 years, 3 wars, and 7 tours. I don't think I'm asking for much.

  3. I don't get it, especially now that we have a volunteer service. I don't even think it would be that expensive. If they had to it could be clawed back against earned income after service but I think the medical care aspect would always have to be there.

  4. The problem is that just like many other employer most employees are disposable. Unfortunately in the case of the armed forces the disposability of the employees is fatal or includes serious mental and/or physical harm. They need to realize that every single person that is sent on a tour in any role/capacity may not come back whole or at all.
Screwing them after they've survived what they often endure is just insulting not only to vets, but even to the country: "Hey we sent these people to defend your way of life and now we're just throwing them away." Fuck that.
