It's about the court replacing parental consent for 17 year olds.

It's about the court replacing parental consent for 17 year olds.

As Libby Anne says, really resolved by just setting the age to 18. I feel the problem is the young person marrying someone undesirable to the parents (who aren't actually in the marriage)

  2. Seriously, as the pathos story says, some sloppy reporting and overzealous conclusions being passed off as journalism have messed up the discourse on this bill. Endemic of the internet.

  3. Here's a simple solution. You can't marry until you are 18. Period.

  4. Martin Cothran (sometimes identified incorrectly in the story as Cochran) is a horrible extremist pushing a dark ages agenda. Though some sites have apparently misstated his position on this bill, overall I have no sympathy for his group.
