Set off by Canadian policy perhaps but this is definitely a case of mental illness, and I don't accept that excuse lightly.
On the plus side, he didn't kill himself and he did plead guilty so somewhere inside he accepts now that he did a bad thing. I hope he gets help and peace. I hope the families of the men he killed can get some closure.
