I've been seeing some articles about how massive amounts of data could "get rid of" the need for science. Do people not understand what science is?

Science is asking falsifiable questions - something that hasn't really been emphasised as a forte of AI or even a goal of AI. Good questions prompt more questions as they are answered. More data should help ask better questions.

Where does the citizen scientist come in? Article is shows the directions. Making science easier to access can add to data sets. Sometimes explaining answers can help prompt new directions. And we need to admit that until now, citizen science access has been denied to people without resources. Even the cheapest smart phone can give access to people. There just has to be a way to help people access reputable sources.
