Milo tries to eat this stuff while swimming.
I thought it was just disgusting not a health hazard although the local pond is posted for no swimming. It's stocked with fish and aerated but since it's so shallow this stuff can grow like crazy. We'll have to look for more sandy bottomed local lakes.
Also about lakes, we stopped for a mandatory boat check on our way out to the coast. Saskatchewan is unregulated so boats are checked. They're still checking for milfoil weed but the control point are the fresh water mussels that have invaded Manitoba.
