Publically owned companies are usually multinational so they can buffer against regional vagaries.
The countries promoting nationalism are also supporting capitalism. Really unless governments start shutting down foreign ownership, I don't think the equities are really at risk unless there is a synchonus (sp?) world wide collapse.
