Interesting use of Carbon Tax monies. Alberta is using to majority to diversify energy sources away from coal and natural gas, BC into refunding business and Norway puts into general funds.
I'm a fan of the Alberta model (not unexpectedly) which transfers funds to especially affected households. I feel those with low income get so few breaks. As someone who can carry a balance I get bank fees refunded and credit card fees waived. Since our household is solvent (aka pay off credit cards in full every month), using cash back credit cards are a tax exempt way to bump up available funds. Low income earners have none of those options because so much goes towards day to day living. And yeah that includes entertainment.

I live in a small Canadian Prairie city with a spouse and a dog. We retired in 2018. This is what life is like.
