PACs are illegal in Alberta. The UPC is very willing to break donations laws - what kind of leadership would they provide?
If you want to know what the current government has accomplished in Alberta you only need to look at what the PAC is funding. This is the platform the UPC is running on Roll back a 0.5% tax increase, roll back equitable wages for servers and freeze for everyone else, scrap the carbon tax which has very defined in spending, roll back labour benefits like health and safety legislation protections and WCB benefits. Oh and remove car dealerships consumer protections since this is a car dealership group doing this illegal activity. Additional platform stands will also remove protections for LBGQT+ people under the guise of "Religious Freedom"

I find it quite interesting that it seems to be that the more conservative people are, the more willing they are to break laws to keep things from changing.
ReplyDeleteYes - Conservatives are the reason for strict laws as they seem fundamentally unable to work with the "spirit" of simple things. They seem driven by loopholes and exceptions.
ReplyDeleteI would add, we've not been adversely affected by these changes. Higher taxes have not affected our lives at all even though we are in that tax bracket. Higher wages (I assumed passed on to consumers) have not affected our lives at all. We pay carbon tax but it's prompted us to modify our energy use like it's supposed to. All in all, these rich people want money as recognizition chits not because it will change their lives. But they're willing to change other's lives for the worse to get these chits.
