Always adjust the seat and mirrors when driving.

Always adjust the seat and mirrors when driving.

Great short video to help with that.

  1. SO many people have no idea how the side mirrors should actually be set, it's frightening. Years ago on Motoring, Jim Kenzie did a piece on mirrors, and it opened my eyes. I've done this ever since, and it's true - there is NO blind spot when set correctly - unless you are in a vehicle with no rearview mirror. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIjacnPGg5I

Tried and tested on the interstates around Chicago ... where you really need it. My wife found it weird at first, but got used to it quickly.

  2. Can't plus your comment enough, Chris Pollard! The need for shoulder checking is avoided with properly set mirrors. I've saved myself plenty of neck strain over the years.

  3. I remember the first time I shoulder checked with an East German grad student in the car (yes, that's how long ago it was). They were appalled that I took my eyes off the road in front of me..
