Usually will be a driver issue. When did it start happening?Of course have to ask if you've restarted too. ;)
Not only restarted but shut down for an hour. I right clicked on the speaker and ran the troubleshooter. Sure enough - driver. It's now using generic.Thanks:)

TV connection is probably HDMI which carries it's own audio, so that's likely why it still works... Points right at either a driver or wiring issue on the other end though..
