Watching Milo interact with us now really emphasizes how much Duffy changed the pack dynamic. Milo is back to eating super slowly, coming to check on what we're doing, playing and generally hanging around in my space. Now that he's old he isn't doing stairs unless he has to (bio breaks).
We're getting a pup in July (Hobbes) but he shouldn't be a bother to Milo for at least 6 months. With both of us home most of the time, it should be easy to make sure there are no noses out of joint.
