We built our house to maximize natural light.
It's easy to forget just how big our windows are and how bright our house is when winters are so long. Our builder had remarked on it. A lot of newer homes seem to be built with darker colours and smaller windows. I get the smaller windows - less heat loss but darker colours :( It's something to look for when we go househunting on the coast. Low natural light and white wall are something we agree we do not want.
Same here, we have large windows as well, and would not trade that. Natasha Piedallu van Wyk loves the light as well...
