Time and again women have shown themselves equal to men but it seems to need to be proven over and over.
No wonder my dad has such high expectations for me. In the 60s and 70s there were competitive intelligent women and I was expected to become one of them.

That was a legendary College Bowl match. Those future CEO guys look vanquished, as if emasculated before the whole country. That, in its own way, is insulting to women. And GE always advertised ovens and hair care products on days when women’s colleges were competing.
