So owning your vehicle outright is no longer protection. He's lucky he could find the claim originator, RBC, and deal with them.
The only time I've had any contact with a collection agency it was the same garbage. We weren't notified of any outstanding debt but all of a sudden there's a collection agency contacting us. With NO paperwork about the debt. It's a big scam that hurts people's credit rating.
