Whether it's weight or food diary, you need some metric for your goal. 

I have a tendency to snack, especially if I get bored or stressed out. Weighing in a quick and simple assessment of my eating habits so I can check if they have changed. Of course the first step is always stabilizing your weight.

  1. i'm terrible for wegiht loss as my big thing is that it's not what i eat, but when i eat is mostly to blame (I usually skip meals and then 'make up' for it later).
