A parent can be an example of healthy habits that don't include scales.
I weigh in each day because it motivates me. I wouldn't do it in front of a child or encourage it in a child. Instead I would provide healthy snacks and do fun physical activities. Treats would be rare and small servings. And small dishes and cutlery.
