One of the things that drew us to our current location is that there were kids playing outside (they're all grown now) but there are intolerant people everywhere. If you don't want to hear kids, move deep into an adults only complex. Actually I'm pretty sure the neighbours could install noise dampeners around their yard like an airport.

  1. Across our back fence is a major city park that blends in with an elementary school. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather when I have the windows open during recess and lunchtime. The happy babble and squeals of kids are like...music.

  2. Even if the yard was adjacent to a 'quiet space,' and the kids 'screaming' there are mature responses that don't involve being a total dick.

(Of course, we had one such person in our neighborhood, and his hobby was calling code enforcement on everyone.)

  3. Bob Lai there was a couple in our neighbourhood that had an eyesore model plane on a pole who tried to expand their yard onto undeveloped land then run off anyone who walked there. Seriously weird

  4. I totally misread the headline ... thought it said "hopes mediCATION will end..." LOL

Some people are just asshats. I hope their alarm is considered a violation and they get charged for it. Kids play. It's what they're supposed to do. Look at the ad budgets spent trying to get parents to pull their kids away from screens! They do it right and let them play outside, and get THIS bs?? Karma and all that ...
